Becca & Mike!
I’m finally getting this AMAZING wedding up on the blog and I am so excited about it! It’s been BANANAS around here, not only with the peak of season but also an emergency move out of my little rental cottage! Luckily I have so many amazing friends and my family to help me through this unexpected transition. Don’t mess with black mold y’all!
Ok so back to this amazingness! “Mecca” had the most kick ass modern yet romantic wedding day all around my beloved downtown Tampa. They got ready at the Marriott Waterside with views of the river and the bay. It was the perfect spot, right between their self made ceremony venue on Davis Island and the coolest new spot around, the Hip Room off Franklin.
The Jolly Trolly took this sexy wedding party over the the Sea Plane Basin Park for the gorgeous ceremony. Nestled right between the Pete O’Knight runway and the Tampa Yacht club were 100+ beautiful dark wood charts and a stunning arch for them to exchange vows. Mike was kept facing the boats as his bride strolled through the green grass to meet the burlap able. He was a mess of excitement and grins! When he turned around I feel like you could actually see his heart swell and his eyes beams at his bride. So beautiful! The ceremony that followed was full of so much laughter and love too! Look at those smiles!! They could not get any bigger.
Once they were official we had the best weather for photographing all of the family combinations and some fun with the wedding party. Then we all got to jump into the trolly, they hoped some Buds and we rode over to the Hip Room to get the party started!
We ran around the streets for some more portraits with the groomsmen and bridesmaids before it was time to make some night time magic with the newlyweds. My flashes decided to throw some kind of tantrum that evening but I quickly worked around and lit them up against the rad graffiti walls and the historic building itself! Some of my favorites!
I was then BLOWN away by their reception space! WOW! I mean I knew it was going to be cool, but DAYUM! The purple uprights against the warm brick and all of the rich greenery was so hot! And the arrangements HANGING FROM THE CEILING?!!? And the cake!! YES YES YES!! It was the perfect space for them and they tore it up! Their epic choreographed first dance earned a standing ovation and the DJ + Band combo was killer! At every turn there was something fun to enjoy; their Photo Booth, the surprise nitro ice cream bar, and the top shelf open bar to name a few.
